Overground Trail Race, Ingleton – 26 May 2013

Overground Trail Race

Overground Trail Race in Ingleton

So the secret is out!  Racingsnakes (AKA Mick Kenyon) has been busy route planning for a race to be held as part of the Ingleton Overground Underground Festival.  The race will take place on Sunday 26 May 2013 from the centre of Ingleton.  The extended bank holiday weekend should see an excellent weekend for those that want a great mix of racing and socialising.  NYMBO are organising a Mountain Bike Trailquest on the Saturday and Andy Kirkpatrick will be ‘the star’ on the Saturday night chatting about his climbing exploits (he is a very funny guy, that lives life on the edge!).  We are still trying to get agreement for a social camping area for the Saturday night.  The Sunday will be the Overground Trail Race day, the run will be fully marked.  It is very scenic run  crossing the edge of the limestone pavements and passing the mouths of a number of potholes.  There will be splendid views of Ribblehead viaduct and on the return, Morecambe Bay.  Most of the climbing will be at the beginning of the run, so once you have suffered for the first mile or so you can relax and take in the scenery as you bimble along!  There promises to be some great prizes too with a major sponsor  TBA hopefully very soon… more details and online entry to follow very soon.
